Standing between 2.5 - 3 metres tall, 'pygmy' is not as small as people imagine, but is the perfect package of elephantine things. Due to human encroachment into the Bornean rainforests, this elephant has become endangered, with its habitat being destroyed or fragmented. Little is known about these little elephants, so scientific research is being carried out by the WWF to figure out if we need to find a sustainable way for these creatures to carry on living alongside humans harmoniously.
