Branches at the Waters Edge
Hambleton Wood, Hambleton Peninsular, Rutland, grey day in winter.
This was another view from the Rutland Water shoreline of the ironstone rocks, smaller in scale, but still very intense in colour. The roundness of the rock forms contrasted with the interlacing tracery of the branches and twigs which almost crawled across the foreground. This intensity of detail was emphasised by the pale, calm water and the distant shoreline.
