When creating this collection, Creffield drew on Shakespeare's original setting for the play - in a wood outside Athens, and began to harbour 'a vision of the figures as archaic Greek ones'. Photographs of these ancient statues became his source material and undoubtedly inspired the features of the figures in Titania: Study II.
