'Study for Large Group 2 (Two Friends), a terracotta of 1940, now cast in a warm golden brown bronze, explores further the theme of two girls, reclining or sitting together. Dobson placed one figure behind the other, kneeling and supporting her friend. It’s a strong and optimistic vision, admirably suited to wartime.'
