Jabiru
Gormless and vulnerable, a Jabiru stands, pensive. A member of the stork family, these fabulous characters hail from South America.
This head is formed by the ripped remains of a large buoy. Very luckily, the mooring ring survived the savagery that destroyed the rest of the float, and with this as the eye, the flap of rubber remaining has been folded under and pinned to form a bill.
Its driftwood body shows a suggested wing, though I think it would be flightless; the small feather detail shown on its flank suggests to me that it is a juvenile.
