Edwin La Dell was involved alongside Brenda Rawnsley and the A.I.A (Artist's International Association) in the production, exhibition and distribution of twenty one lithographs celebrating 'The English Scene'. An advertisement in the A.I.A newsletter in 1951 invited artists to submit sketches for selection - Brenda Rawnsley as part of the selection committee chose La Dell as one of six contributors to produce work for the small fourth edition of the School Prints series - of which this is one.
